Can you help? Last week HFK purchased emergency groceries for 80 families! We determined this action was necessary because the situation in Korah has become more dire.
Due to Covid-19, families are in their third month of having to stay home, with more hungry mouths to feed because their children are not in school. Most families struggle to live hand to mouth, and yet they have not been able to work due to closures and social distancing. Food prices have skyrocketed with some basic food staples hard to find. During this critical time, we are assessing the need for emergency support every month and decided this month more was needed. The cost for June's emergency groceries was an additional $65 worth of flour, oil, pasta, rice, salt, soap and bleach per 40 families and another $125 for each of the remaining 40 families who also needed teff and other groceries. If you are able to help in any way to feed these families, it would make a big difference!
