Brewing Change: Socio-Economic Empowerment

Family Empowerment is at the heart of the work Hope for Korah is doing.

As we come alongside families, especially mothers, we see how our programs—each addressing unique and holistic areas of support—come together to help individuals pursue their passions and achieve their dreams.

In this video, Mulunesh, Kidist, and Aziza are doing just that—pursuing their passions and realizing their dreams. You will see how these women, who are graduates of our program, are now employed and building a sustainable future in their various roles at Esset Roastery, one of the most beautiful coffee shops in Addis Ababa.

You will also hear from Sosena Shiferaw, HFK's Country Director, as she shares how the holistic nature of our socio-economic program makes our model unique. "Poverty is not simple," she says. "You cannot address it at the surface level. It is deeply rooted in many areas. Through our programs, we help individuals discover their strengths and identify the barriers holding them back. This approach empowers us to break the cycle of poverty."

Enjoy this inspiring journey of Mulunesh, Kidist, and Aziza—witness their strength, resilience, and dedication as they break barriers and build a brighter future.
