Recently, our health services team dewormed and measured over 400 children as part of the Berta Breakfast program, using MUAC and BMI to assess their nutritional status.
What made this week particularly meaningful was the involvement of two very special volunteers, Hanan and Bereket, who grew up in our HFK programs. Now university students—Bereket is graduating in Radiology, while Hanan is pursuing her nursing studies—they returned to fulfill their post-secondary volunteer hours and to give back to the children they once were part of. It’s truly inspiring to witness their journey come full circle, as they now contribute to the health and well-being of those who are following just behind them.
