In Loving Memory of Mintesinot

It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the loss of a beautiful young boy from our program, Mintesinot.

This sweet-natured boy was cared for at our HFK Daycare, and was well-connected not only to the daycare staff, but to our entire staff team. At just 4 1/2 years old, Mintesinot succumbed to his injuries after a tragic accident which left him with severe burns. The loss of a child is a painful and inconceivable disruption to the order of life. This is a truly unexpected and devastating loss. Our comfort comes only in knowing that this sweet child's pain has been taken away, and he now rests in the arms of Jesus. Mintesinot's short earthly life was bursting with promise and beauty. He was an absolute treasure - beloved by his siblings and his mother, full of joy and always ready with a smile. He stole the hearts of his precious family, and our entire staff team has been captivated by his loving and rambunctious spirit.

Please pray for this dear child's family as they grieve this tragic loss: for his mother Serkalem as she grapples with the reality of losing her son, while supporting her other children as they grieve their brother. The loss of Mintesinot is also felt deeply by our staff team in Ethiopia and North America - please pray in the days and months ahead as we all process this loss and find ways to honour the life of precious Mintesinot.
