Miraf & Mihiret

Eight-year-old twin sisters, Miraf and Mihiret, share a close bond and love learning together.

They live with their mother and younger sister, whom they adore. Tragically, they lost their father about four years ago, making their already challenging life in Korah even more difficult. Since joining Hope for Korah, however, their health, nutrition, and living conditions have stabilized.

Both girls are dedicated students—Miraf has a particular passion for Math and General Sciences, while Mihiret’s favorite subjects are English and Math. Despite their young age, both dream of becoming doctors. Though they face challenges in some subjects, they are determined to improve their grades and have made significant progress by supporting each other through HFK’s after-school tutorial program. Miraf and Mihiret also enjoy spending time with their friends and are known for their strong communication skills, teamwork, and positive attitudes.

This fall, the twins are entering Grade 2 at Bright Academy, a private school offering a higher standard of education, with smaller class sizes, quality teaching, and greater support from teachers. Their Educational Sponsorship will cover tuition, uniforms, textbooks, school supplies, after-school tutoring, youth activities, and the Berta Breakfast each morning before school. This support will help Miraf and Mihiret break the cycle of poverty by empowering their minds and giving them hope for a brighter future.
