Yenenesh's Education

Yenenesh is a kind and generous teenager whose early years were filled with hardship.

Growing up, Yenenesh and her mother often found themselves on the streets of Korah, begging for rent money and food to survive. Despite their struggles, they received support from the kindness of neighbors and passersby. However, Yenenesh faced many challenges that no child should have to endure. Now, as part of Hope for Korah, Yenenesh, her younger sister, and their mother are looking forward to a life filled with hope and purpose.

A diligent and punctual student, Yenenesh enjoys school, particularly Math and Amharic. She is committed to improving her grades through HFK's after-school tutorial program and has successfully passed her Grade 6 National exams! Although she still faces challenges related to her past experiences, HFK staff are working closely with her and have noticed a positive shift in her attitude toward education.

This fall, Yenenesh will be entering Grade 7 at Joint Vision Academy, a private school that offers a higher standard of education with smaller class sizes, quality teaching, and greater support from teachers. Her Educational Sponsorship will cover tuition, uniforms, textbooks, school supplies, after-school tutoring, youth activities, and the Berta Breakfast provided each morning before school. This support will help Yenenesh break the cycle of poverty by empowering her mind and providing hope for a brighter future.
