Yaregal's Education

Compassionate and responsible, Yaregal is pursuing a university diploma in Marketing while also honing his skills at a soccer academy.

At just 7 years old, Yaregal and his three siblings faced extreme poverty, sharing a tiny, dilapidated home with only a single small bed. His widowed mother, struggling to survive, scavenged for food at the garbage dump and begged on the streets of Korah. Severely ill at the time, she found hope through medical intervention and HFK's Economic Empowerment Program, where she became a skilled basket weaver. HFK played a pivotal role in Yaregal's upbringing, providing him with vital nutrition through the Berta Breakfast Program and access to after-school tutoring and various youth programs.

With a heart for service, Yaregal became an active member of HFK's Kindness Club, working with his peers to meet needs in the community. He is also a natural problem-solver with a passion for creativity, particularly in building and crafting. Reflecting on his goals, Yaregal shares, "I plan to dedicate myself fully to my studies, graduate with good grades, and then support my family and community."

Now 20 years old, Yaregal has enrolled at Admas University in a 3-year diploma program for Marketing, while participating in a soccer academy to further develop his skills and explore new opportunities. Post-secondary education represents a transformative and positive step in his life, and we are excited to support him as he takes this next step in his education journey. This sponsorship will cover tuition fees, school supplies, materials, and transportation costs needed for him to complete his program. In turn, this will help Yaregal break the cycle of poverty by empowering his mind and offering hope for a brighter future.
