Bemenet's Education

We met Bemenet 12 years ago, when he was just in kindergarten, shortly after his father had passed away. Over the years, we have watched Bemenet grow into a caring and thoughtful teen, who recently graduated from high school. In his university application, he shared his aspirations for technology; "I have a strong passion and I am gifted in this field." Bemenet is often seen using his talents to help host events at HFK's Youth Centre.

At home, Bemenet has taken on a father-like role in the family, guiding and supporting his siblings. He is deeply committed to providing and supporting his mother, who is now one of HFK's most experienced basket weavers!

We believe that post-secondary school will be an important and positive change in Bemenet's life, and we are excited for this next step in his education journey. This post-secondary education sponsorship will cover tuition fees, school supplies, materials, and transportation costs needed for him to complete his program. In turn, this will help Bemenet break the cycle of poverty by empowering his mind and offering hope for a better future.
