Hardworking and highly motivated, Amira is a second-year accounting student with a bright future ahead.
Amira is the eldest daughter in a large family of seven, with her youngest sibling having special needs. Her parents recently joined HFK due to the financial strain of raising their children. Amira shares a deep bond with her family, saying, "When I graduate, my first goal is to get a job and support my family. I want to help my younger siblings with school supplies, clothing, and anything else they need."
In addition to her studies, Amira is an active volunteer in HFK’s after-school tutorial program, where she mentors younger students and serves as a positive role model. She stays connected with both staff and peers by attending monthly college student meetings at HFK’s Youth Centre.
Currently in her second year of accounting at Saint Mary's University, we believe that post-secondary education is a critical step in Amira's journey. This sponsorship will cover tuition fees, school supplies, materials, and transportation costs needed for her to complete her program. In turn, this will help Amira break the cycle of poverty by empowering her mind and offering hope for a better future.
